Notes

Notes allow you to keep a maintenance diary for all your Sites.  Allow multiple users to enter Notes through a web interface. Add notes to a Site for example when a sensor is replaced or when a logger program is updated.

Complete control over web access to Notes.
Users can have 3 levels of notes access.

1. View Access:  User can only view notes.
2. Edit Access:  User can create new notes.  User can also edit notes he created.
3. Admin Access:  User can create new notes.  User can edit all notes.

Notice that Notes access is also based on which Sites the User has access to.  Users can only add Notes to Sites that they have access to.

Include pictures in notes.
Easily include pictures in notes.  Large pictures can be automatically resized. When viewing notes users can filter to show only notes that contain pictures.

Search Notes.
A powerful search allows you to quickly find notes containing specific text. Use operators to refine the search.

Searching for precipitation sensor returns 3 matches.
Searching for "precipitation sensor" returns 1 match.

Filter Notes.
To quickly view relevant notes VDV allows you to filter Notes by several parameters.

1. Owner: Show only Notes from Sites belonging to a specific Owner.
2. Site: Show only Notes belonging to a specific Site.
3. Note Type: Show only Notes of a specific Type.  All Notes have a user selected type.
4. User: Show only Notes created by a specific User.
5. Picture: Show only Notes containing pictures.

Notice that you can combine several filters, for example show only Notes from Site: Weather Station having Type Maintenance and containing a picture.

Notes in Reports.
Notes can be connected with Reports. When creating a report for a specific time period you have the option to include all notes for the same time period that are connected to variables in that report.
