GEONOR demonstrated the use of Vista Data Vision at the AMS Annual Meeting 17. - 21. January.
Publish data to the Web

Vista Data Vision gives you full web access to all your data.
Vista Data Vision has all included to run a web service. After configuration of the web server, all graphs and pages are visible on a web site. On an internal network, this only takes few minutes. To open access to the WWW, you need to talk to your system provider or your IT manager and open external access to the PC running the db.web.browser or the web server.
Easiest of all is the use the built-in IIS web server of Windows OS, e.g. Windows Vista Business, Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 Pro, or any of the Windows Servers like version 2000 or 2003.
How does it work?
- Configure IIS, see db.web.browser's help
- Run all three VDV applications
- On the same PC, open IE (or any other web browser) and type http//localhost/vdv
- On another PC on same network, open IE and type http//"IP Address of VDV computer"/vdv
- That's it, all your data is now at your fingertips.
Want to use Linux web server? No problem, just point the Linux Web server to the VDV web folder. Note: VDV runs on MS operating system. Still, Web server sitting on Linux PC can still access data sitting on VDV on MS PC. See db.web.browser's help.
