Q: Can I use my own tools to read data stored in the MySQL data base?

A: You can use any SQL tool to read data from the data base. Such tools are built into program packages like MS Excel. Alternative, for viewing data in the data base, download MySQL GUI Tools which include MySQL Administrator and MySQL Query Browser from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/gui-tools/5.0.html. All documentation on the two products can be found at http://www.mysql.com/products/tools.

Q: After uninstalling all VDV applications using Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs, the Vista Data Vision folder is still in the Program Files folder. When deleting the Vista Data Vision folder, some of the sub-folders can not be deleted. What shall I do?

A: The sub folders which are part of the web browser may be connected to the IIS web server. To delete all the sub folders, delete them manually one by one, and finally delete the Vista Data Vision folder. Alternative is to delete the IIS web server connection to the VDV folders. In Control Panel / Administrative Tools, Select Internet Information Services, and in Web Sites / Default Web Site, delete the entry VDV (and VDV AccessControl if present). Then delete the Vista Data Vision folder.

Q: After shutting down all VDV applications, I was trying to uninstall all VDV applications using Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs.
But I get the following Uninstall Error Message: What shall I do?

A: The reason is that MySql data base is running. You can shut down MySQL using Windows Task Manager (hold down Ctrl-Alt-Delete, then select mysqld.exe and click on End Process. Then run Uninstall again. Alternative is to restart your PC as MySQL will not start automatically. Then run Uninstall again.
