| VDV Version 4 Released |
|
Vista Data Vision has launched the new VDV version 4.0. It is based on the same proven database applications as before and is just as easy to use. However, the look and feel of the data is better than ever. Now, users have access to time saving features when configuring graphs, like moving variables and graphs around, and new features for full control of colors and lines of graphs.
Also new are web maps with alarm indications. Web maps are excellent tool to display great number of measured values on a map (or any graphical background). New are background colors of each variable. If an alarm is associated with a variable, the background color will change and show Yellow for L and H alarm situation, and Red for LL and HH alarms. This greatly simplifies overview of complex data monitoring.
Operators running data services are pleased to learn that web-based users are now able to maintain their own alarm settings for each variable as well as organizing their email mailing list. And the clients, whether they are fellow scientists, co-workers or paying customers, are pleased to learn that using a web page they can maintain access codes as well as create new access codes for co-workers without assistance from the operator.
All in all, the new VDV version 4.0 give data service provider’s outstanding tools to serve their clients better.

| Campbell Scientific is now offering VDV |
|
After testing the VDV applications for a year, Campbell Scientific in Logan, Utah, decided to add VDV to its range of products. CSI offer its customers two of the higher end versions, the VDV Standard and VDV pro. As part of the preparations, Vista has held hands-on training for the CSI Application Engineers. VDV supports data from all CSI dataloggers in Array-based and Table-based format and with timestamp as short as 1 second.
By using the VDV applications, customers can greatly shorten time for deployment of any CSI datalogger project, as customers no longer need to write their own software applications for data handling. Not only does this save time but money as well.
See www.campbellsci.com/data-analysis-software for information about VDV.

| Alarm Toolkit |
|
QUESTION: I need to monitor incoming variables and send out Alarm Messages when a specific variable exceeds its limit, how do I do that?
ANSWER: With Vista Data Vision Alarm Toolkit you can monitor any incoming variable and send out Warning Messages as an Email or a Text Message to cellular phones. For each variable you define inner and outer limits and assign contacts to the variable.
The Alarm Toolkit also contains a powerful shift organizer. Define shifts for contacts so different contacts can receive alarm messages based on the day of week, hour of day etc.
The Alarm Toolkit in Vista Data Vision can also monitor the Data in the Database so if a site has not been updated for a specific time period a warning message can be sent to a group of contacts.

| Macy´s Thanksgiving Day Parade |
|
Since 1924, the well know Macy’s department store has organized and run the New York City Thanksgiving day parade. It has been a success from the very beginning and for many, Thanksgiving starts with Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
New last year (November 2006) was a network of automatic weather stations, measuring wind speed and wind direction at seven street corners, in order for the Parade Crew to retract the Balloons in case of wind gust at next corner.

These weather stations were installed and operated by Pinnacle-Wireless, a large service and communications firm in the NYC area, see www.pinnacle-wireless.com. As for software applications, Pinnacle-Wireless chose VistaDataVision to display real-time weather information on web pages, as well as trend curves.
Using the VDV map feature, a separate weather information page was devoted to each of the 7 weather stations. These information pages were used by parade staff at each street corner. A common overview page for all stations was used at the Command Center and by the city personnel.
Again this year (November 2007) Vista Data Vision was used to monitor the 7 different Weather Stations
The Vista Data Vision applications really proofed their value in this extraordinary and successful project.
