Vista Data Vision is built on the experience we have gained by running our own successful Data Service Bureau for years.
We have always been true to the idea that logged data management should be easy. Therefore, VDV is targeted to those professionals that run data logger systems and need simple-to-use tools for advanced data handling. This includes browsing data, database storage, web portal, alarm handling, validation, all kinds of reports on the fly, web access control, automatic reports, and so on. .

Question
"Hello VDV, after collecting data for 3 years, I find my dat files become very large and difficult to manage. What can I do? Peter"
Answer
Dear Peter. In db.robot.c you will find just the functions needed; Split and Backup. Under File menu, choose Split to split your dat files into year files. After being split there are individual dat files for each previous year, the current year is intact. Then run Backup which will make a copy of all marked dat files included Split files to a new location, e.g. to any computer found on your network. This will run automatically once set up and save you a lot of trouble doing backup work.
