GEONOR demonstrated the use of Vista Data Vision at the AMS Annual Meeting 17. - 21. January.
Displacement Graph
Displacement Graph is for plotting data from Displacement Sensors at various depth. As displacement is usually slow going, the Displacement Graph plots data from selected sensors at certain time intevals. Because of this, slow going displacement movements becomes visible.
How does it work?
- In db,data, browser, choose sensors to use and type in the actual depth of each sensor.
- Name the setup, choose units and other settings, and direction of the scale (vertical, horisontal). Save.
- To view, select Displacement Graph from the functions menu at the top and adjust settings.
- Viewing Displacement Graphs work equal well in db.data.browser as on a web interface.
- Recall the setup with all pre-adjusted.
- That's it!
Graph of displacement
Displacement Graph allows users to analyze tilt data in a more logical way than using the traditional Graphs with time on the X-Axis.

When viewing Displacement Graphs the User has several controls to adjust how the graph is displayed.
- Default Interval: Sets the interval between measurements (Plots). Quickly increase or decrease the time between each plot. Options are from 1 hour to 120 days.
- Plots: Change the number of Plots to display. Range is 1-20.
- Line Width: Change the line width of the Plots.
- Display Points: Toggle whether to display Points at each data point.
Left click on the checkbox in front of each Timestamp (Plot) to Hide/Show that Plot, right click on a checkbox to show the selected Plot and hide all other Plots.
The Calender at the right of each Timestamp (Plot) allow the User to modify the timestamp of each individual Plot.
Use controls at the top of the window to scroll back and forward using the selected Scroll step.
The camera button allows the User to save the current view as a PNG image.
It is possible to save each configuration to easily view it again later. When a configuration is ready press Save Setup and enter a name for the Setup. It is usefull to save a particular test or an interesting scenario.
To recall the configuration simply select it from the drop down list of Graph Setups.
Press Export Data to save data into delimited text file for use in other applications..
Displacement Graph Setup

Configuring of the the Displacement Graph depends on the sensor setup.
Name: Name used to identify the Displacement Graph setup both in db.data.browser and on the web.
Displacement Type: Type of Displacement Graph, options are Depth, Elevation and Distance.
Displacement Type Axis: Select whether the displacement Axis is the Y-Axis (for Depth and Elevation) or X-Axis (for Distance).
Displacement Type Axis: Select whether to flip the Displacement Type Axis, mainly used with Displacement Type Depth.
Displacement Type Unit: Select unit for Displacement Type, possible options are cm, meters, inch, feet.
Displacement Type Scale: Configure Displacement Type Axis. Scale is either Automatic or Manual.
Value Axis Scale: Set the Value Axis. Scale is either Automatic or Manual.
Value Unit: Set Unit for Value Axis.
Owner: Set Owner for Displacement Graph Configuration. Owner is used to give Web based Users access to Displacement Graphs.
