After installing Vista Data Vision the db.robot.c gives an error message: “The VI is not executable. The full development version of LabVIEW is required to fix the errors”

vdv_robot_error_vi

To fix the problem you must download .net 3.5.1 framework and install it on your server:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7&displaylang=en

http://vdvcloud.com/vdv_direct_login.php?ref=5&id=15F0D

When you have installed the .net framework db.robot.c should work fine.

Email header contains Mail Server information

Problem: When receiving emails from Vista Data Vision the email subject contains information from the Mail Server above the VDV Subject.

Adding new Site, Finish button disabled

Q: After adding a new site to db.robot.c and immediatly adding another site. After the configuration process (selecting dat file and working with alias names and units), the last button “Finish” is gray and does not work. Why is that?

A: The db.robot.c is most likely busy importing data from last site you added. You can verify this by dragging the window (the one with the gray button) aside so you can view the front panel of db.robot.c. At the bottom of the front panel, you should take a look at the progress bar to see if it is working. If so, wait until it finishes.

Changing Graph Date/Time Presentation

Q: In the graphs of db.data.browser, I would like to display time as 24h time and not as AM/PM time. How can I do it?

A: The clock format is read from the system setup for each PC. For USA, default clock format is AM/PM. Some parts of the word have 24h clock.

You can change the way db.web.browser presents Date/Time.
In Windows, open Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, and select Customize for Regional Options. For Time, change am and pm into blanks, and change h:mm:ss into H:mm:ss (H is 24h). Apply and OK. Then re-open db.web.browser, and you should see 24h data in graphs, latest data, tables and download.

In db.data.browser I would like to use comma (,) as decimal point instead of dot (.)

The (,) vs (.) for decimal are read from the system setup for each PC. You can change it by open Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, and select Customize for Regional Options. Then change Decimal symbol from (.) to (.) and change Digital grouping symbol from (,) to (.). Apply and OK. Then re-open db.data.browser, and you should see new decimal symbol in graphs, latest data, tables and download.

Printing

Q: I want to print from db.data.browser. However, there is no selection of printers. I have tried to change my default printer but I still print on my original default printer.

A: The db.data.browser will print on the printer that was default when db.data.browser was started. Therefore, if default printer is changed, close db.data.browser and start again to print on the new default printer.
